| May 5, 2012 Families of the Miami-based U.S. Army Reserve 841st Engineering Battalion, which is deployed to Afghanistan, were guests at a Yellow Ribbon seminar at the Don Shula Hotel in Miami Lakes. There were discussions on how to maintain a stable family life with a parent overseas, how children often react with Dad or Mom gone for many months, finances and ways to continue strong relationships. America's Moms for Soldiers contributed tips on mailing "care packages." America's Moms salutes the courage, commitment and sacrifice of the men and women – and their families – of the 841st Battalion. |

On January 13, 2012 Cypress Bay High School
Junior ROTC members showed their support for U.S. troops by gathering
supplies and funds and then packing "care packages" to send to
Afghanistan. As students at other South Florida schools also are
finding out, the supply drives and packing events are fun and
rewarding projects. To schedule an event, please email

In Memory of Sue Hatch 7/7/54 - 10/28/11 Sue was the Volunteer Coordinator and the heart of America's Moms for Soldiers. She was our 'people' person and worked tirelessly to make sure all of our volunteers felt welcome and comfortable. Sue believed strongly in our mission and would want us to continue without her. She will surely be missed by all of us, but her love for God, country, and the American soldier will travel in each package we send. |

"May 29th, 2011, found America's Moms
for Soldiers back in action at the Faith Center in Sunrise, Florida. The
Faith Center, in coordination with the Broward County VA Clinic, sponsored a
Memorial Day Celebration honoring our veterans and those servicemen and women
who are currently serving their country.
America's Moms for Soldiers, along with
a number of various veteran service groups, welcomed all to the Faith Center
with the opportunity to send a personal message to our soldiers and sign up
for volunteer activities. The outpouring of support from the Faith Center was
overwhelming and we ended up with the names over a hundred new volunteers!
The highlight of the
day was President Judy Smith's talk with the audience describing what a
soldier feels when he expects not to receive anything at mail call and
suddenly hears his name being called and handed a care package from America's
Moms. The audience responded from their hearts and proceeded to make
an overwhelmingly generous donation of $3,000 to America's Moms, enabling us
to continue to provide these badly needed items to our troops.
America's Moms for Soldiers looks
forward to a long and productive partnership with the members of the Faith
Center and thank them again for their amazing support!"
