"Each month you all have sent packages to our little FOB [forward operating base] that is shared with so many soldiers. This month was extra special. I received your boxes a couple days before Christmas, but since a lot of the forces on this base were out on missions up till the day before Christmas I was unable to pass them out.
"The first box went to my team, and a couple other small teams that
work with us. They all were so thankful and loved the hats that came in
each one. The second box I couldn't deliver till Christmas eve. At about
2230 I was able to go to the area where a group of soldiers were resting
between flights. These men had been told that there would be flights to
support and to work all through Christmas night. So I took the box of
packages and passed each one a little box of Christmas cheer. They all
were so thankful, and for a moment forgot that it was going to be a long
Christmas night. Each one of the soldiers came to thank me for bringing
them the boxes, and I told each of them where the boxes came from. They
all wanted to say thank you so much for making their Christmas eve a
little better.
"Thank you for helping
me bring some Christmas cheer to young soldiers who are so far from home.
Thank you so much for caring about somebody who serves so far away and
helping him remember the true meaning of
Christmas. Thank you all and God Bless. Merry Christmas from the 489th Civil Affairs Battalion."

We want to thank you so much for your continued support and thoughtful
care packages. Above is a picture of our Forward Surgical Team. It is our
honor and pleasure to take care of wounded soldiers in the deployed
environment. We thank you for the goodies that keep us going! As you can
see we have a few females in the unit so the body products and mud masks
were a treat. We usually don't wear any makeup, have to keep our hair in a
bun and feel very unfeminine so its nice to feel like a woman again
sometimes : ) All of the snacks are great and special thanks for the
Keebler Fudge sticks....yum! It
is always great to have the pictures and letters sent by kids. Its a treat
to read what they write and to know that early on they are supportive and
appreciative. We have hand drawn pictures up all over the place at work.
I will be traveling back home to Texas in January so I will not be here to
receive any more care packages.
Thanks again for
all of the support and kindness. Happy holidays!

I am currently stationed here in Afghanistan and we just arrived in this country 2 weeks ago. This care package I received brought a smile, and huge morale lift. We are stationed at a camp with no px. Although one is being built, it is still 90 days away from being completed. The hygiene items are very much appreciated. As well as the snacks. Oreos never tasted so good!. It was like Christmas. I just want to say thank you for your time, the generosity of giving. Blessings on your day and the Thanksgiving Season upon you. With a thankful heart, Danelle

15, 2011 I just wanted to let you know how much that care package made my day! My name is Alyssa and I am a medic in the national guard deployed to the Khost province of Afghanistan. I have only been in country for a few weeks but I feel as if I was tossed into a completely different world! I like it here though, as much as you can like a war zone haha, there is food, beds, great friends and wonderful people like yourselves that remind us we have support from back home. The package I received was perfect, I'm headed to an area without a lot of amenities so the baby wipes, hand sanitizer, and snacks will be packed away in my assault pack. I also loved the National Geographic, and wisps, but my favorite thing was the letter from Jordyn and this card from Patrick Kavanaugh, I laughed and had to share with everyone in my barracks. I'm keeping it for my scrap book. Just wanted to say thank you again, we really appreciate what you all do, and I know I speak for everyone else when I say this. I can't describe how much these little care packages just make our day a little better. Thank you again Aly

It is with great humility that I write a letter of thanks to your organization for the support and caring your group has shown to thousands of troops by way of your care packages. Today I received one of your care packages we are very appreciative of the gift. We are grateful that the American people still care and support the troops with donations of little goodies that remind us of home and warm our hearts as we continue to do the service of our country. We say thank you.
As a commander of a special operations detachment, that
deploys frequently, we accept our duty with the highest of honors and
count our service as a privilege. We are blessed to be selected and called
upon to serve in this war on terror and hope our efforts continue to
provide for the freedom’s the American people love. We hope we can
continue to serve with honor and respect and pray that our missions bring
the highest dignity upon our country. We realize many volunteer hours and
funds have gone into your care packages and for that we say thank you for
sacrificing that for the American Service Members. We appreciate all you
do and hope that in the end everyone’s efforts will be rewarded.
Again thank you for the care package and know that we will
do our best to represent America and all she stands for until called back
home. Respectfully in your Service,
Derek

Thank
you for taking the time out of your busy lives to send my men care packages.
During a deployment it is always hard but it is incredible how something
from home can lift the spirits of the men and cause them to push forward
with their mission even though they may feel they have nothing left. We
truly appriciate what your organization does and the men of TMISD 9D20 say
thank you! As you continue ahead with your mission please know that what you
are doing is appriciated and making a difference in the every day lives of
Soldiers in combat. V/R Barber |

Words
cannot express how thankful we are for you and your organization. We
received three 60lb boxes today that contained 15 individual care boxes for
both our male and female Soldiers, and they are wonderful!!! From the
California Raisins, Magazines, his/her personal hygiene kits, snacks, 5
hours energy shot and sleep waters, these packages are awesome. It doesn't
matter whom receives your packages from a homesick young Soldier to a
veteran deployed Soldier they will find something inside of your boxes to
bring a smile to their faces. Thank you for everything you are doing for us.

Today I received a care package packed by Carol French here in the middle of nowhere Afghanistan. I just want to let you all know how much the soldiers over here appreciate all your kindness and consideration. I am one of the "older soldiers" and can remember a time when service men and women were not very appreciated, even hated for wearing the uniform. I tell the younger soldiers to always say thank you whenever someone does something nice for us. Getting a package from you all is like getting one from my mom who has been deceased for two years now. Many thanks America's Moms for Soldiers and thank you Carol French for your service and many like you, we salute you!!!! With Sincere Thanks and Best Regards, David

I am sending you this e-mail to thank you very much. This was for a
package I received three days ago from your organization. It was a nice
surprise. I shared some of the items with a few of my fellow soldiers and
they enjoyed it also. I would just like to say thank you for what you do
for us and it is greatly appreciated. It is so nice to know that there are
people like you that take the time and energy to let our soldiers know
that the people back home care for what we are doing. Thanks again, Else

I just wanted to thank you for all the love and care you send to us over here on a regular basis. It means a lot to myself and our younger Soldiers to get those packages. It's a quick reminder that someone really does care and that gets us through the next day. I especially want to send a personal thanks to Sandy Steen, the lady who packed the box I opened. God keeps her, and those like her, in special remembrance for all the love they show. Thank you so much! David FOB Salerno, Afghanistan

May 10, 2011 Thank you so very much for our care packages. It is so hard to explain how a simple package can mean so much to a Soldier, even before they open it, before they have a clue of the treasures inside, the similes of joy begin to show even before they rip it open. For each and every one of them I can say that it never gets old when someone says "thank you" with a package, a email, a letter or verbally. I can tell you my Soldiers are very proud of our country, the service we are allowed to be a part of and for all Americans like you! Thanks again, May God bless you, your families and America!! I
am SFC Merritt, "Big Dawgs", Inland Cargo Transfer Company (AIRBORNE) out
of FT Bragg, NC. We are currently stationed
in Joint Base Balad, Iraq. We have been receiving your care packages
throughout our year here. We are currently in out tenth month looking at
the finish line and wanted to say thank you for your caring and much
appreciated boxes. It put smiles on the Soldiers faces who did not have
a loved one to send them anything. Most care
packages that come from the states are okay but yours have a lot of things
that the Soldiers both need and want. As a Platoon Sergeant, I especially
thank you for helping to make my job easier. THANK YOU FOR CARING! BALAD CRSP NCOIC |

Thank you very much for the stuff you are sending and everything you
are everyone there is doing for us. The lotions are being used here
considering the weather is getting warmer and the water we shower here in
is hard water, non drinkable so we only drink bottle water which is
brought on convoys or airdropped by the Airforce. Also the razors are very
useful. We are keeping pretty busy here now that the hot weather is here
and the Taliban are coming out of Hibernation from the cold weather. well
this what we are trained for keep us in your prayers. Take care and thank
you very much again. SFC Lopez

April 10, 2011
It ain't over til it's over--and now the toughest part of our deployment
comes upon us. We have to find a way to maintain operations--denying the
enemy any attempt to regain the territory we now dominate; pack up our
stuff; get movements scheduled; provide welcome and supplies for our
replacements coming in (with all their stuff--into a combat outpost that
is over stuffed already); and get out of here ourselves--all over the
course of the next two months. It makes for a very crazy, stressful, and
dangerous time...and on top of all that, we won't be getting mail. In
order to clear the system for the next guys coming in, all mail needs to
be in the mail by 1 MAY. No mail after that will get to us.
You all have been amazing! From the hygiene and food/snacks--to the
music, books and videos....the supplies have never let up. In the midst
of a painful recession back home, you all never forgot us, and gave us the
most important ammo to win the war--to gain the hearts and minds of the
people around us. The Taliban cannot exist without the support of the
people--given willingly, or in most cases, by force. When the people
trust us, and help us, the Taliban have no where to go or hide, because we
will know about it by morning. It's like a valley wide neighborhood watch
program, made possible by the supplies you sent.
Please, please pray for our attitudes as we work so hard at the end of
an exhausting deployment.
His unworthy servant and yours, Fr. Kevin

My soldiers were hitting golfballs from our living quarters roof which is not that tall and we had to stop because of Sniper fire. so now we have to do it under cover and don't have anything that we can use. That is like one of the main games many of the guys here like doing to pass time when it gets hot outside. Yes we have quite a few golfers in my platoon. Plus most of the Firebase here is all rocks. working on getting a picture with my whole platoon but it's been hard with unsafe situations. Thanks again for everything. --- Tony

you had a great Christmas and a wonderful new year's celebration. |

| December 26, 2010 I'm writing to you from Afghanistan and want to thank you for your support and best wishes to me and my soldiers. We received the boxes and the Blankets were especially helpful. everything was wonderful and our troops here put everything to good use. If not worn then in their stomachs. It was wonderful rspecially right now on Christmas day. Please keep sending these care packages when possible. It brings my soldiers moral here and they love it. Most soldiers need writing paper, envelopes and black pens. Just to help out. Well thank you very much for everything and keep us in your thoughts and prayer.

I just wanted to let you know
I received a box from you today packed by Laura B. and I wanted
to say thank you. It always means a lot when we receive packages
from someone packed with care and gratitude.
I am here for 18 months and have never been away from my family
for more than a week at a time and have never missed a holiday
until now, so this genuinely helps. I've placed the stocking
from my box under my little 4' tree here in my room and will
open it Christmas morning!
I think what you're doing there is fantastic. All the best to
you and yours there. Chris

"Recently a care package was given to my Platoon via the
Chaplain on your behalf. The contents of this package was an assortment of
personal hygiene items as well as a delicious assortment of little snacks.
All these things may seem small in the larger scheme of things, but to the
men, the effect was of a much larger scale.
Its through the generosity of groups such as yours that we are able to
continue with our mission here in Afghanistan and other places scattered
about the world. It never ceases to amaze me that even after 9 years, groups
like yours continue to mail packages and letters to troops that they've
never met, it shows a level of dedication and selfless service that is not
commonly found in our country or the world. Thank you for everything you do
for myself and for all the young soldiers, sailors and marines that serve to
my left and right. V/R, SFC G."

October 20, 2010
I just wanted to send this email to say thank you for everything that you
all do for the men and women that are serving overseas. Your constant care
packages and letters that come with each package from the mothers and
children around the country are something that has always brightened the
days of my soldiers. This is my sixth combat deployment and I know for sure
that the last three that I have been on, our soldiers received packages like
these.
It is a great feeling to receive these gifts from back home and just as
much so from people who support us and yet do not know who we are. I
remember writing a soldier in History class during Desert Shield and I
wondered how they would feel receiving something from a stranger. Well,
just 7 months after I wrote that letter, I was over there in Saudi Arabia
for the Desert Storm. I joined the Army at 17 and left to go fight for my
country and I have been doing it every since. I am almost at 20 years, but
I can tell you all one thing for sure and that is how a soldier feels when
they receive a letter or package from a stranger. I can tell you that it is
a feeling of complete happiness and thankfulness all rolled into one. To
know that someone in the states have taken the time to prepare a letter or a
package and send it to someone that they don't know is something that fills
my heart with bliss. Sometimes I look at our country and at times feel that
our country is going down the tubes, but then I see and I am at times on the
receiving end of so many people's wonderful letters and packages showing us
their support. Then I remember that is what makes our country so great. It
is not soldiers but the people back home like yourselves that make and keep
what "America" stands for. So thank you!!!!!!!
Please know that it is the support from the people back home (like
yourselves) that make what we do easier to deal with. Knowing that helps me
remember of the good things in the world and the good that we are trying to
provide to the people here. I achieve that good feeling when I see the
support that your organization has given and how that benefits the morale of
my soldiers.
So once again, from the bottom of my heart "Thank You!!". We love
you all and we are so thankful for the support that you all give us
everyday!!! God Bless you and your families as well! Sincerely,
CW2 W.

October 20, 2010 "Good morning. I received a box packed by Ms. Debbie and I am truly thankful for all that you and your organization are doing to support the troops here in Afghanistan. The best part about the boxes are the pictures drawn by the children, Bendley is a true artist and Lens words of encouragement and support are greatly appreciated. Thank you again for all that you are doing and most of all for your prayers. Be blessed and I pray that what you pour out will returned double portion. God Bless. Sincerely, M." |

August 30, 2010 I'm SPC R. M. of B Co I have been receiving the packages that America's Moms for Soldiers has been sending me. I really appreciate the support and the packages as well. But I appreciate it because they come in handy. I just wanted to email you and tell you and everyone else that is involved in the program THANK YOU, I really do appreciate the time and effort you all have put into sending me and everyone else packages it means a lot especially for the people who don't get anything from anyone else. Thank you so much for all that you and your volunteers continue to
do. my guys and many, many other soldiers definitely appreciate the
care packages and all that you and your teams does for them as they
serve over here. The days and nights are very long. They are also
lonely at times. Getting a gift box from someone always brightens up
there day and replenishes their supplies too. Words cannot express
the gratitude that I have for you all and your countless efforts to
care for our soldiers. Thank you. 4CH (CPT) D.A.TF V. Chaplain,

I just received one of your care packages from the medical group
here at Forward Operating Group Wright. I want to thank you so much
for taking
the time to send it. We are stationed here at a small camp in the
mountains of Afghanistan. There are less than 30 females on
the entire base. A company from the 101st Airborne is here along
with some other infantry and artillery assets. I work with the
Provincial Reconstruction Team as the Public Affairs Officer. We go
throughout the province to help rebuild the country and empower and
train the local government. We do everything from constructing water
pipes so villages can have running water, participating in Women's
Rights Conference's, teaching rule of law classes to local
prosecutors, building orphanages and schools, and a bunch of other
stuff. I am sending you a few photos I took along the way (I am a
photography major from the University of California, Riverside).
Hope you enjoy ... |

March 12, 2010 This is SSgt R. V. and we had just received one of your care packages. We thank you for showing your support and letting us know we are still remembered. The other handlers and myself will put to good use the snacks and goodies that you and your organization has put together. If there is anything that we may be able to do for you (i.e.-pictures with the dogs, etc.) let us know and we will be able to accommodate. P.S.- Much thanks for the calendar it's hanging in my room right now. Great idea by the way. Thank you again, R. |

February 13, 1010 I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to you and your organization. The package that you sent was absolutely wonderful. All of the items were needed and appreciated. I shared with my fellow battle buddies, and have enclosed this photo to let you see the recipients of your unselfish giving and care heart. It is because people like you who support and pray for us, is the reason that I can do what I do everyday. You are the heart and soul of what we fight to protect. I thank you, we thank you, and we salute you. Respectfully SSG D. C. CAV 82 ABN |

acknowledgement to my e mail. Just want to make sure you got
it. I am in a combat job and above I posted a picture that
my mother liked. Thanks again! Expect to hear from you soon
mam! :)
Sincerely,
SGT A. L.
